[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, March 14, 2025] — The 2025 LGT World Women’s Curling Championship gets started in Uijeongbu, Korea, on March 15th, and closes with the championship game on March 23rd. A total of 13 countries, who have qualified through the 2024 Le Gruyère AOP European Curling Championships 2024 and the 2024 Pan Continental Curling Championships 2024, will compete for the world title.
The 2025 championship is the final event to that awards Olympic Qualification Points for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano-Cortina 2026.
The United States will be represented by Team Peterson (Tabitha Peterson, Cory Thiesse, Tara Peterson, Taylor Anderson-Heidi, Vicky Persinger), who won gold at the USA Curling Women’s National Championship this past January in Duluth, MN.
For Tabitha Peterson, this will be her fourth time skipping Team USA at these championships. Thiesse has also skipped at a world championship, but has competed with Peterson at the third position for the past three seasons. For Peterson’s sister Tara, this will be a fourth appearance at the world championship. Persinger will make her fourth world championship appearance, while Anderson-Heidi is at the event for the third time.
The World Championship format requires endurance and perseverance—the 13 teams in the event will play a full round-robin, with six qualifying for the playoff round. The top two teams advance directly to the semi-finals, with the third through sixth place teams facing off in the first playoff games.
Fans in the United States can watch the action on The Curling Channel, with Half-Season, Full Event, and Single Day subscriptions available.
