MIXED DOUBLES NATIONAL CHAMPS CROWNED

Thiesse/Dropkin Complete an Undefeated Run, Topping Anderson/Stopera in the Final

[EAGAN, MN, March 6, 2023] — The Mixed Doubles National Championship concluded yesterday in Kalamazoo, MI, with a final that featured current and former teammates facing off for the title.

The team of Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin emerged as champions, topping Sarah Anderson and Andrew Stopera 8-3 in the final. The Thiesse/Dropkin victory put a stamp on an excellent week in Kalamazoo, as they went through the round-robin portion and the playoffs without a defeat, finishing with a perfect 9-0 record.

To reach the championship game, Thiesse-Dropkin beat Taylor Anderson and Ben Richardson by a score of 7-4, while Anderson-Stopera topped 2022 Olympic representatives Vicky Persinger and Chris Plys 7-6 in the semi-finals.

Thiesse-Dropkin will now represent the United States at the 2023 World Mixed Doubles Championship, scheduled for April 22-29 in Gangneung, Korea. Coverage of this event will be available from the World Curling Federation on The Curling Channel on Recast.
