[EAGAN, MN, February 29, 2024] — Collegiate athletes from around the country are heading to Rice Lake, WI, for the 2024 US College Championships, scheduled for March 8th through 10th.

The Rice Lake Curling Club will host the top sixteen college teams over three days of competition to crown a 2024 championship-winning school. During the qualifying round, teams will compete in pool play, with four teams in each pool. The top two finishers in each group will advance to a single-elimination playoff round—quarterfinals and semifinals will be followed by the championship game on Sunday.

Over 300 athletes competed in various events this season to qualify for the College Nationals. Teams earned berth in this year’s event either through points earned while competing in college-only events or through their placement in designated regional championships. Nine schools from the Northeast, four from the Midwest, and three from the Emerging region, which includes schools in non-traditional curling locations, fill out a diverse field of curlers playing to become the 2024 championship team.

To accommodate student schedules, teams at this event will be able to field teams of up to six players, with four playing each game and two acting as reserves.

“We’re excited to welcome a wide range of schools to Rice Lake to compete at this year’s Nationals,” remarked USA Curling CEO Dean Gemmell. “These curlers are some of the most passionate in the country and many of them find our sport during their college years. This championship allows us to put a spotlight on the growth of our game among this age group.”
