TEAM HARRIS WINS GOLD AT 2022 U18 BOYS’ NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

On Mar. 31 - Apr. 3, 2022, the Fort Wayne Curling Club in Fort Wayne, Indiana hosted the nation’s top boys and girls curlers under the age of 18 for the 2022 U18 National Championships.
Introduced to USA Curling in 2017, the U18 National Championships are a regional-based, geographic championship. While the U18 National Championships do not lead to a world championship, they do serve as an added competitive experience to help develop junior curlers.
On the boys’ side, the field was made up of 14 teams from across the country, including: Wisconsin (3), North Dakota (3), Massachusetts (2), Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Illinois, and Washington.
The format of the Championships was a double knockout with a consolation bracket.
At the conclusion of the double knockout bracket, it was Team Harris (Sidney Harris, Mason Guentzel, Will Podhradsky, and Stuart Strack) from the Minnesota region that came out on top.
Team Harris went undefeated through the tournament to achieve a perfect 4-0 record and clinch the national title!
