FIELD SET FOR 2022 U.S. OLYMPIC TEAM TRIALS FOR CURLING

On Sept. 30-Oct. 3, Mayfield Curling Club hosted the second of two Men’s and Women’s Olympic Trials Qualifying Series events.

The event welcomed 11 men’s teams and four women’s teams to compete for the final two spots in their respective fields at the 2022 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Curling.

As stated in the Qualification Procedures, the Trials Qualifying Series qualified three men’s and three women’s teams between the two events.

·        The winner of the first qualification event

·        The winner of the second qualification event

·        The team with the most WCF World Team Ranking points combined in the two events

Based on these procedures, Team Persinger (Greg Persinger, Craig Brown, Dominik Maerki, and Alex Leicther) secured their berth to the 2022 Men’s Team Trials by winning the second Olympic Team Trials Qualifying Series event.

Additionally, Team Dunnam (Scott Dunnam, Hunter Clawson, Cody Clouser, Andy Dunnam, and Daniel Dudt) secured their berth to the 2022 Trials by earning the most WCF World Team Ranking points combined in the two events.

On the women’s side, Team Rhyme (Kimberly Rhyme, Caiti Flannery, Libby Brundage, and Katie Rhyme) qualified for the 2022 Trials by winning the second Olympic Team Trials Qualifying Series event.

Additionally, Team Strouse (Delaney Strouse, Anne O’Hara, Sydney Mullaney, Susan Dudt, and Becca Rodgers) secured their berth to the 2022 Trials by earning the most WCF World Team Ranking points combined in the two events.

The qualifications of Teams Persinger and Dunnam on the men’s side and Teams Strouse and Rhyme on the women’s side complete the two fields of six teams that will be competing at the 2022 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Curling on Nov. 12-21, 2021 at Baxter Arena in Omaha.
