[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, May 6th, 2024] Following extensive conversations, thorough review of team results, and careful analysis of individual performances during this past season, USA Curling has released its selections for the 2024-25 National Team.

With the 2026 Winter Olympics fast approaching, efficient use of resources is required to provide top performers with the tools they need for success.

“These decisions are never easy,” noted USA Curling Sporting Director Katie Baker. “But as the Milan-Cortina Games draw closer, we need to narrow the funnel of resources and provide more support to combinations that show the greatest potential for podium finishes.”

While the 2026 Games are the top priority, long-term expansion of the talent pipeline cannot be ignored. As part of that effort, Development Pool athletes were also named.

Baker added, “We understand the sacrifices elite competitors are required to make in our sport. Juggling career, family, and curling is a challenge, especially for young players just entering Women’s and Men’s play. The Developmental Pool identifies athletes we want to keep engaged.”

The financial approach of USA Curling mirrors other National Governing Bodies. In order to use funding as effectively as possible, National Team staff must adopt a value investor mindset and focus dollars on improving the teams that are most likely to represent the United States at the 2026 Olympic Games.

“Our National Team staff was thoughtful and analytical throughout this process,” noted USA Curling CEO Dean Gemmell. “It’s also worth noting that funded teams are not guaranteed berths in our national championships and Olympic Trials. Those are earned based on results on the ice—there are no discretionary selections.”
