On Oct. 30 – Nov. 5, 2022, the United States will compete in the 2022 Pan Continental Curling Championships in Calgary, Alberta, to compete to earn the U.S. berths to the upcoming World Men’s and Women’s Curling Championships.

The Pan Continental Curling Championships combines the Americas and the Pacific-Asia zones, to qualify the top five countries in both the men’s and women’s fields for the World Championships.

To determine the men’s and women’s teams that would represent the United States, USA Curling consulted with the Athletes’ Advisory Council to agree on selecting the highest-ranked U.S. men’s and women’s curling teams on the World Curling Federation’s World Team Rankings as of Sept. 19, 2022.

Based on these qualification procedures, Tabitha Peterson, Cory Christensen, Tara Peterson, and Becca Hamilton will represent the United States in the women’s field.

In addition to the reigning U.S. Olympic Team joining forces with Christensen, the skip of the team that most recently represented the United States at the World Women’s Curling Championship, Vicky Persinger will be accompanying the team in the alternate position for the Pan Continental Curling Championships.

In the men’s field, Korey Dropkin, Andrew Stopera, Mark Fenner, and Tom Howell will represent the United States.

“It’s always a great honor to represent the U.S. at the world stage and we are thrilled for the opportunity to compete in the Pan Continental Curling Championships,” said Korey Dropkin.

The team has introduced a new lineup this season, adding Andrew Stopera into the third position following Joe Polo’s retirement.

“Andrew is an incredibly talented curler and has a great mind for the game,” said Dropkin.

Despite the new lineup, the team feels confident heading into the Pan Continental Curling Championships.

“We already have 20 games under our belts together this season,” added Dropkin. “I’m confident that we’ll be prepared moving into the competition in Calgary.”

Team Dropkin will be joined by Rich Ruohonen, who will be providing his expertise and experience in the alternate position.

USA Curling is sponsored by Columbia Sportswear, Toyota, Twin Cities Orthopedics, Training HAUS, Brakebush, ISS (Ice, Sports & Solar), and Sitrin, and is partnered with IHG, Rock Solid Productions Inc., Laurie Artiss Ltd. – The Pin People.
